Cant speak to shoes but I have a 12.5 and 12 indys and find them close enough in size for it not be an issue...of course boots are more forgiving.

PSA: Not my listing but...

Although this is not Alden, this shoe is a really good value for those who might want to experiment with Edward Green. I have owned this shoe for several years (over $1K Special Order) and love its versatility with the Ridgeway sole. It looks quite sleek...

It's been listed for several weeks, price lowered a couple of times. Again, not my listing...

Cheers!

Interesting. What's your Brannock? What else do you have in Alden? My Aberdeen & Leydon are 13E so I'm thinking that 13D Barrie may be aok?

I love this boot!:D.  Unfortunately, my Hobbit feet would require a 10.5EE, so I'm patiently waiting!

Looking good Zippy. Those are a fantastic boot. Try and keep the old Alden Boot laces on those. The newer ones are wider and suck with the hidden eyelets.

In my experience, suede tends to stretch more than most leathers, while shell doesn't seem to give much. If anything, it's possible you may fit in a 12D in suede.

Ditto. I have found that suede has more give and stretches more than cordovan. Cordovan is not very forgiving from what I have experienced, but I have a pair of suede (lined) chukkas (J Crew version) that seem to have stretched. My 13D barrie cordovan boots are a bit tight, especially if I wear anything but thin socks. My suede chukkas have stretched so that thick socks are a bit of a must.
