any particular reasons why Epaulet's make-ups are having all the delays?

If I remember correctly, Leffot's NST blucher and naval boot were pre-ordered only this year and have been shipped already.

I am not on the preorder of the Alt Wien but just wonder why.

That's a good question. I got in on the pre-order last June, and when I inquired about it back in May they said hopefully this Fall.

Seems a long time considering Leffot is able to turnover their pre-orders in a couple of months. puzzled.gif

I'm not sure, but it could be because Leffot only does pre-orders AFTER an order has been confirmed by the Alden factory whereas Epaulet may have taken deposits towards putting an order in and having it get confirmed at a later date.

Edit: Confirmed means it has a scheduled time frame for production.

That's what I always assumed the situation was as well.

I grabbed these last week--I love the JCrew captoe #8's, saw these when randomly browsing, had a 20% off coupon, and reflexively hit BUY NOW.

They're on double-waterlock soles, which isn't mentioned on JCrew's site, but I rather like. I agree about the speedhooks--I like them when putting boots on, but not when I cross my feet as I sit tongue.gif I think the color is the same as the JCrew longwings, although I don't have a pair to compare. I like the boot, I'm happy with it. I'd prefer it in whiskey shell, but that isn't going to happen, so...

Here's a quick snap from this morning. https://instagram.com/p/62U1b0polE/

I'm on the Leffot natty CXL captoe preorder, and now I'm wondering if I "need" those. I do love captoe boots, but they are likely to be quite similar as they age. Any sartorial thoughts from other Alden fans would be much appreciated smile.gif

Out of curiosity, how'd you snag the 20% off and get it to work? I'd jump on those if I could get them 20% off.

Opened a jcrew credit card. You get 15% off when opening (I picked up 975's and the captoe #8's) and 20% after your first billing cycle (I grabbed these and the tobacco long wings).

Opening a card is the only way I know to get the coupons to work on Alden, but if there are other ways, I'm all ears. smile.gif

Well you could use the JCrew ones for a dressier enviroment and the Natty CXL for a good shit kicking boot that you wont worry about getting drinks spilled on, food stains etc

I have Indy 403's for that role, but that does bring up a thought: natty CXL would look awesome with casual stuff like indigo. I really like the natty CXL LSxSE boot from some years ago (missed it), so the Leffot was sorta a stand in, in that regard. I suppose I could keep these jcrew boots all polished up, and let the leffot's age into deeper patina. Good idea smile.gif

Maybe put a round lace on the jcrew tobacco boot to dress it up a bit?

PCT's today. Haven't worn them in a month or so but after cleaning them up and dressing the edges this weekend, I had to throw them on.
