These came in the mail today and they look as good in person as they do on the web. One final shout to Aram at ahonshoes.

I've had a really good few months in picking up some rare shoes that I really like. Strangely enough my favorite pair in my entire rotation is a $100 pic from the bay. AoM model 1671 on Aberdeen.......

My initial foray into dark grey and color 8. Didn't feel strange at all.

Judge for yourself, but I am estatic with how these turned out. You can also check them out on Arum's blog.......

Edited to add lik to Arum's blog. He posted a much better timeline of the process and outcome.

Hey Shawnc:  late with my reply but just wanted to say they turned out great.  I have been in contact with Arum about changing my suede indys to dainite (if they don't sell)  also the shoes that you dyed black turned out really well.  Thanks for sharing the efforts

They arrived like this, but unfortunately he didn't notice until he had put them on and begun to walk around. They have been worn outside and rolls have begun to develop. Any thoughts, solutions or remedies would be greatly appreciated.

Update: If that section is pulled lightly, it is evident the whole piece is coming off. It's as if the thread had come undone.

I have had similar issues fixed by a cobbler. He can either go back to Leffot and request help or seek it directly.

A LWB is always a great choice. :-)

It's not very noticeable and it sits so low that it isn't visible under normal viewing angles. Some Venetian shoe cream may even work it out a little. You can see it in the last pic. I think I'll keep me!

Your combo looks good to me. Glad you decided to give it a whirl. Nice shoes. The brass is fun on them.

The blue cxl wingtip boot was gorgeous. The navy suede/cognac calf saddle shoe is really nice looking.

And their black suede indys on commando are out of this world.

Agreed. Planning on stopping in there tomorrow. Pretty excited.

Better late than ever Duck. Thanks. I have really gotten bitten by the Alden suede bug lately and I think those Indy's would look amazing in Dainite.

Alden suede is the business. Despite all the shell shoes I have, my 9794 are probably my favorite pair of shoes I own. They're stupidly comfortable, dress both down and up nicely, and are very durable with their oiled soles.
