Very nice Z! Those just gotta be a pain to keep near pristine. I wish I had the flair required to pull them off.

These don't begin to come to life until way past pristine for me, especially w/jeans.. If any Alden model is meant to showcase wear&tear it's these badboys imo (and all shell too : ) !

Not to toot our horn (Toot Toot), but all of the aforementioned versions derive (as far as we know) from the original Alden of Carmel versions, AF9, AF13, and AF14.

AF9, Color 8 Shell Cordovan, Aberdeen Last, circa 1998

AF13, Black Shell Cordovan, Aberdeen Last, circa 1998

AF14, Aberdeen Last, Brown Alpine Grain Calf., circa 1998

Whoa - nice! I didn't even know Alden did NST loafers. Congrats.

Me too until I saw they were listed on eBay. As Mike said, these are made around Grant last by Alden of Madison.

Adam, I knew about yours with the KILLER hand stitched foxing, but yours are on the Aberdeen and these are on the Grant. :-)

I would have preferred your model clearly if Alden would still do that work on the shoe butt.

Hey Mike

Yes, all the non-AoC versions that I have seen have been on the Grant last.  My guess is that Shoe Mart and Madison saw ours online around 1998/1999 and asked Alden for the same models.  Alden then agreed, as long as they changed the last from Aberdeen.  I don't know this for certain, but I don't remember seeing an Alden Norwegian front slip-on before ours, so ours may have been the first made by Alden.

JGilbert just got an order confirmed. Give them a buzz to see if they happen to have any slots still available. It's Color 8 on Black Edges on the Plaza Last. If my memory serves me, it's on a Leather sole.

I am fairly certain that you were first to the game. It's a really cool model! :-)

been toying with the idea of some Blue CXL Indys for a while now. Finally pulled the trigger on the Supply & Advise make-up. Very happy with the unique color on these. Double water lock sole with ortho Thomas heel.

Does anyone here ever get comments from other Alden enthusiasts "out in the wild"?? I've only ever seen one pair of cxl Indys out and about. Living in CT I'm sure there are people here but it's a true sighting. I see more bobcats and black bears than Alden's!

Hey Sazzy, looking great in your Navy CXL Indy Boots. They are a nice color and the Natural Edges look great. I know these with the Thomas Heel will be taking good care of your dogs. Enjoy them much!

On another note, interesting that you wore blue with them. Do you find it to be too much blue?
