No, they were very uncomfortable around the ball of my right foot and the big toe of my left. And they were already creased when I received them from Kafka, so I didn't want to risk any further creasing before the flip.

Which reminds me...they're still sitting pretty in my sig. smile.gif

But as for the Indy boot, I figured it might be possible with the wider last and the much stretchier nature of CXL. However, I got an email from Vass today saying my suede budapester MTO is ready, so between that and the cognac shell Carmina PTB, my shoe budget is blown. No Indy irregulars for me this time around.

Also, Kathy ordered me the 975 in 10.5 3E, so I'll have to pony up when those come in as well!

Would there be any risk of damage if I were to leave a pair of shell Aldens in a hot car for hours at a time? It's summer in Texas and I'm sure the interior of the car can get well over 120 degrees.

Thanks

Is some heel slippage expected with a new pair of these? This loafer is on a flex sole so it will be an easier fit...less issues with the slippage. It is unlined so it should be a softer more flexible fit.

How do you guys prevent heel slippage, especially with loafers? Tongue pads? Will tongue pads ruin the integrity of the shoe?

lol the pain is real, just remember to take deep breathes and stretch every 20 minutes. no these were a size 11. at the time i had a pair of 11e barrie chukkas that fit snug so i was hoping to get away with 11D barrie. didnt work out. my only regret is that i sold them new for slightly below retail. should have listed them for a $1,000,000. atleast

PSA Epaulet just announced another run of the taunton boot. Very nice semi-brogue cognac Alpine grain commando sole on Barrie option for the more rugged gentleman.
