My first traditional Alden dress shoe.  Can't believe it's taken this long.  I need a black pair next, without the perf (9071).

Awesome RTP! What last are those on? Hampton? And how do you like the fit compared to Barrie?

Yes, these are the stock model 9015 and are made on the Hampton Last. The Hampton is an interesting fit. I personally go TTS on this last just like the Aberdeen.

Looks great Repp and always a pleasure to see you here. The 9015 was my third Alden behind my Ocho Tassel and Ocho Chukka. I just got the Black Version (9016) a week or two back and haven't had time to photograph yet or get it out.

You expecting a Cigar CT from our friends in NYC anytime soon? I heard that turned into a two phased order due to complications with the confirmation. Hopefully you will get it soon!

Looking good Ryden. Always in good taste when wearing a LWB.

Congrats, the depth on those is pretty insane. They look like museum calf?

My friend, both are great, but I would definitely go with the LWB in either shade before the Dover in either shade.

Sweet bluchers Rydenfan!  Are they short or longwings?  I have the J Crew shortwings and love them.

I first started out buying boots left and right. Now I'm refining a bit, 10 years later...  I recently purchased a pair of 9901, and now I'm keen on the model you are wearing and the idea of a black straight tip version is spot on. Fortunately my wife is a proponent of this idea.

But for the record, I'm still a shell boot junkie.

Much thanks my friend.  The 9015 has been on my Alden queue for quite some time.  I have slowed down quite a bit this year but couldn't say no to these when the price was right.

I think I too will still enjoy shell boots the most! :nodding:

Great acquisition!!  The #9015 gets the most use out of my rotation by far (suits most of the week).....  Definitely a "King" Classic.

Indeed!  I'm looking forward to enjoying these often!

@mdubs is correct on all points.  I think I may prefer the Hampton to the Aberdeen last.  Seems to fit my feet really well.

Thanks @mdubs!  Glad to be back.  I am due for the new Cigar cap toe boot on barrie from AoM sometime this fall.  I'm not sure of I will prefer this to the grant version.  The barrie boot seems to fit me exceptionally well.

I think the slight discoloration from the initial creasing has given it a nice two-toned appearance, a la museum calf.  Very happy with them!

If one is looking to buy a pair of stock Aldens (say PTB or LWB in black or color 8 shell), which online seller is considered the best to deal with?  I'm based in the US.

The Shoe Mart, Alden of Madison, DC, or San Francisco are all solid places to get stock Aldens.  TSM will not charge you shipping or taxes (if you are outside of CT).  With any of these places, if you develop a nice working relationship buying stock models, it becomes that much easier to acquire the harder-to-find, exotic shell make-ups.  :nodding:

Good luck my friend!
