I called them once to purchase a pair of boots, they told me they will not ship to Canada.

Mind you that was about 3 yrs ago.

One of our resident shoe enthusiasts recently posted a picture of a saddle shoe that reminded me of the "Hayburner" saddle shoe designed by Nicole Miller of Blackbird in 2010/11.  You can still find pictures of these shoes here:

http://helloblackbird.blogspot.com/2011/03/new-alden-for-blackbird-hayburner.html

She designed a whiskey shell cordovan/black alpine grain saddle shoe, as well as two other versions.

Note the brass eyelets.   I guess she was ahead of her time, huh?

It's a shame Nicole and Blackbird are no longer in the shoe business.  She is/was a talented merchant.

Be advised, at $165.00 your shoes will not be as good as new, but Alden can do more than your local cobbler--e.g. recork the midsole, replace the welt, put the shoe on the original size last for resole.

I have three pair that have been back at least twice, and all of them had been resoled elsewhere between recrafts at Alden.
Thanks v much for your advice A.K.A.

Anyone know if Alden makes any other shoes on the m-75 last besides the Brooks Brothers Wingtip? Searched around but didn't see anything online.

I wish Alden would make those lasts available to other retailers.  M58 is probably my favourite Alden last.

Do we know they don't, or is that just speculation? I expect retailers tend to stock what people know and ask for.

Deciding between keeping the jcrew cap toe #8 or AND the Indy

Problem solved - KEEP BOTH!

csmitty, I'll unload the first pair when the special order arrives from Context. Just don't know how long that will be. Hence the interim pair.

Yes that of course is the logical thing....LOL...I have grown quite fond of the crepe sole...so literally the three things I disliked the most when starting this journey.....1)The Indy, 2)Crepe Sole, 3)Shiny Shell.....all wrapped up in one boot.....and now I can't seem to part with them.
