When I see these rarities on my size, I tend to just swoop them up.

Certainly a boot that has massive potential to be worn all the time.

Yep...me too.  My cigar AoM captoes are out for delivery.  I already have the DC on Grant with commando version.  I also have DC Ravello with commando and the Leffot Daytripper in Ravello.  I don't mind some extra boots I wear a lot.

Note that I've been told it's on the 379X last and not Barrie.

What's the difference between 379X and Barrie lasts?

They're extremely different. Fortunately for me, I have a pair of both in the same size.

The 379X is basically the modified last. Super narrow in the waist for a snug fit, normal heel, and hugely wide in the toes.

I would be flabbergasted if these wingtip boots are on the 379X last rather than Barrie. 379X is an anatomic last like the modified. Would be very surprised to see the wingtip pattern on the 379X. It's also usually a Japanese-market last.

Compared to Barrie, it has a lower instep, is wider in the toebox, is narrower in the waist, and has a narrower heel. It is extremely comfortable, though.

I'll take some pictures for you later.

Ok, here is a question for the folks who wear Alden's as a work boot, is there a cobbler out there that will install a Steel Toe on some Indy's, Plain Toe, or Tanker boots?

Anyway, last year I received the AOM email for this rare boot....just after I bought several rare shells and had no $$$ left....cloud.gif

So, when @Bbombers85
posted this PSA I was all over it like a duck on a June bug.

This is very exciting.

Thanks.

P.S.  The 270 welt was just too much to bare...had to have em...

Those are epic sir!

I wear the same size in both - 8D. The fit is different but I like the way both feel a lot. I'll take some pictures for you shortly but I'd be shocked if they're 379X rather than Barrie.

Hello everyone. Can someone tell me me which last is widest in the arch? Does this coincide with a wise toe box??
