Medium would be totally fine, if not a little narrow depending on the design. Trees usually have a listed size range, and it's usually fairly correct.

I want to have a pair of boots resoled with an oiled/waterlocked double-leather sole and have the eyelets + speedhooks replaced with all eyelets. Who could handle that? These are casual Alden boots (and I don't want vibram) so I'm not sure B. Nelson is appropriate for me.

I would go with B Nelson. Everyone raves about Nick's work.

Anyone? Looking forward to a reply on duplicating the welt, edge and stitching type and color when restoring a pair of Aldens.  Thanks!

/quote  Wow, those look amazing!  I'm about to send in my color #8's in to Alden for restoration.  What would be the instructions that I would have to give them to get that welt, stitching, and edge type/color?  /endquote

I don't believe Alden customizes shoes through their restoration process. They will only return them to the original look (resole, re-dye, mend ripped leather). You will have to find a cobbler to change the welt/eyelets etc. People on here can definitely point you in the direction of a competent cobbler who can meet your needs. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply.  If I take these to a local cobbler, what specifications should I ask to duplicate that wonderful shoe above?

I've used B Nelson on several occasions and I've always been pleased with their work. Also I believe moulded shoe does resoles if you're looking for the real alden double waterlock sole.

Thinking about either sending these back to Alden for a restoration or sending to B Nelso so i can get an antique welt/edge. I love the look of fresh Color 8
