My first (only) pair of Alden shoes. Won't be my last. 909 with a black suit.

Are you kidding me... @MrDV and @mdubs are walking around in (or displaying in glass cases) :rotflmao: all of the make-ups I've longed for over the last few years.  They've cornered the market in 10D barrie and similar fitting Alden boots and shoes!

On the other hand...

1. I have been fortunate to pick up some lightly used hand-me-downs.

2. I've also made two really nice friends

3. They've saved me from spending even more obscene amounts of dinero on footwear.

... I am very grateful for my SD friends!  :D

Unfortunately for me I am the same size as @tifosi
(that's how he manages to keep his shoe count relatively low...)

As well as me and @bespoken pa and a few others. Hot size for sure

I've seen some with a slit in the tongue that the laces go thru.

Did you know it's called Color 8 because it's dyed eight times?:

Yep, that's that Englade321 genius tongue fastener I remembered from earlier on this thread!

1st pic - my Loake for PealCo. boots have that slit in the tongue to lace through.

2nd pic - Alden shell cordovan WTB with the tongue lined with leather.

3rd pic - Alden theShoeMart suede boots have a tongue that is unlined.

So for me, the unlined tongue shifts a bit more than the lined ones.  I am tempted to take an box cutter and make my own lace slots!  Then again, I might duplicate Englade's leather fasteners.  Decisions, decisions.

Well, one of those solutions isn't permanent.

TBH, I hate the look of tongue slits.

Good point. I will be looking for leather strips to duplicate Englade tongue fasteners then.

Tried these on over the weekend and I couldn't believe how comfortable they were. Felt like slippers. I'm about 50/50 on picking these up mostly due to the fact I have other orders coming in and I'm trying to take it easy.

If anyone is looking for a good shoe for the summer, I would strongly suggest trying these on. Crazy comfortable.

Make me want to ditch my snuff chukkas and replace them with those, always loved the look of them casually with jeans. They look great on you so I think you should grab them!
