Look at those nasty water spots.

Dont have much at home so this is what i did when i got home.

1- Clean with damp cloth
2- Brush
3- Condition cream which was given by Alden when i bought the shoe at the store
4- Brush
5-Buff
6- Brush til i cant feel my arms

Still the mark has only lighten a bit and its still there.

Gentlemen,
I'm trying to decide on my next pair of Aldens. I'm torn between two models: 975( longwing blucher in #8) or a special make up for J Gilbet (NST on the Plaza last in #8 with single flex welt sole). My style is more casual as I'm usually in jeans or chinos. I think the 975 is more casual due to the rounded toe of the Barrie last and the double leather sole. However I'm leaning towards the NST on the Plaza because it is more unique and less ubiquitous than the 975. If I get the NST, I'm considering replacing the single sole with a double leather one to make it more casual and rugged. Which of these two would you all recommend? I also own a 6 eyelet captoe blucher on the Plaza last in cigar, which was a special make up for Alden of Madison in NY. Its probably one of my best fitting shoes due to the 6th eyelet, which helps to keep the heel from slipping. This is another reason I'm leaning towards the NST. I welcome your feedback.

Those are calf skin, right? If so, shine with polish and they will go away. Also, with time they will go away. Finally, and I do not mean at all to be unkind or unfeeling, but they are shoes on the ground. They are not meant to be perfect and are part of the patina that make shoes look great.

PAYPAL policy is clear that a seller shall not pass the 3% fee to the buyer.

It is done - especially on a certain Audio equipment forum and craigslist

How big of a deal does the Paypal thing have to be? Figure out what you want to make, add the cost of shipping the item, multiply that by 1.03 and have that be your best price. Sellers who say "price does not include x" annoy me because it doesn't really take that much effort or thought to put an all inclusive price together, and I hate opening a classified that says an item is $50 when it's actually $50 plus shipping and fees so more like $65-70.

Sammy

The boot is hard to come by, the longwing is in the Alden catalog and easy to order.

Totally agree the paypal thing is annoying. It is a constant easily accounted for in pricing.

I don't believe it is dishonest or enough to be banned from a forum

Beyond being annoying, it means folks can pay double fees.
So I sell something on ebay, can't charge % on top for paypal, then if I pay a surcharge for paypal to another seller, I am paying twice.
That sucks.
