Need some better lighting ASAP haha, these look gorgeous. They are looking like the perfect shade of dark eggplant, the color is going to be amazing when they crease I think.

Friends, beware of a scammer selling rare Alden's on the marketplace. He ripped off my Whiskey Chukka auction from ebay. Thankfully someone noticed they were my shoes and e-mailed me a link. I contacted the buyer from ebay and he said he was wearing them and was not selling them.

I own a few pairs of rare shell, but this is still my favorite. Just a killer pair that goes with just about anything. Enjoy them in good health!

Since my previous post regarding the special ordering of sizes generated a decent amount of conversation, I'll go ahead and update anyone who's interested.

Alden SF's special order policy sucks badly:
"Production will take about 20 weeks, payment in advance will be required, and no cancellations or returns.
When you are ready to order, please let us know and we will process for you."

Alden NY's is much more reasonable:
Payment upfront, returnable for store credit within 14 days.

Alden DC's is even better:
Payment at delivery, returns as usual.

Alden SF either has an atypically terrible special ordering policy, or an employee who isn't doing them any favors. In any case, Kathy at DC has submitted an order for a 7.5B 901 in black calf. When it shows up, I'll either own a very classic conservative dress balmoral (which I need) in my correct size, or I'll be out nothing. It suffices to say Alden SF has lost a longtime customer - I wish I was aware of this difference years ago so I could have avoided them altogether.

In all fairness, Leffot has the same policy on non-stock sizes and it's tough to blame them. Retailers know what sells for them. If you want something outside what the majority of their customers want, why should they eat the cost of it potentially not working out? They're essentially putting the risk on you.

Just offering my own opinion on it.

In all fairness, Leffot isn't a company store so I wouldn't expect them to behave like one.

Would anyone be down for a GMTO remake of the old Epaulet Tyrol blucher?

Thanks for the note, he has already been banned from SF.

I like that pattern. It's a shame we see it so infrequently.

Off topic, but I am looking for a nice day planner in either shell or maybe CXL. Looking at Mitchell Leather, but I am open to suggestions. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I was surprised I did not find a single picture or reference to these in the thread. I managed to dig up last and other info from one or two posts on AAAC.

I've been wanting to see a version of this same shoe, but the brown calf replaced with brown suede. That's my ultimate spectator.
