I am having a #4 boot made and am also putting a pair of boots on the B&S and Ebay so I can have Kathy send me a Alden 974.

This is my hobby.  Some gents go fishing or hunting or whatever.

I enjoy shoes and boots in particular.
Excellent choice on the 974. The Tremont last is one of my favorites.

No word on shipping confirmation yet for me. I bet they have had a busy week with all the preorders and then the arrival of the Dovers.

Just got an email for the LWBs being in too.  Probably took care of the Dovers first, so they'll probably ship soon, unless they're waiting to ship out everything at once.

Anything in Color #4 through Alden would elevate to mass hysteria.  I hope they do make something in #4 again, puzzling why they have not.  Its one of those things that I keep in the dream pile and celebrate if they come true.  In many ways collecting boots and shoes are my hobby too!

Hey guys so I just got my Alden 966's a few weeks ago and love them.  Most comfortable shoe I have ever owned.  My question is what do you guys pair them with in terms of pants?  I wear them with Khaki pants and dark jeans.  Not sure what my other options are and wanted to see what you guys match with them?

It's not shell, but the Winn Perry vegano tan captoe boot is phenominal and pretty much an identical makeup to the famed #4 captoe.

I can't remember who did the comparison shot - sactofas? tifosi? rydenfan? one of the boot poster names I recognize - but it led me to buy them. And that WP boot is maybe my favorite Alden makeup I own (and the calf has shell qualities, i think. It's special!)

Gentlemen,

Tell me a little bit about the Alden Tremont last.

How it fits, the look, and your overall feelings about it.

Thanks in advance.

It reminds me of the child of the Hampton and Barrie. I size down to my Barrie size.

DC just emailed and the Cigar LWB are in, they are said to be very dark and also have a drak edge trim even though Kathy requested light.

Personally I am going to pass. Might be lots of sizes up for grabs if you are in the market for a pair with dark edges.

I actually like the dark edges.

Dressier. More formal.

I wonder if this means AoM's Cigar LWB should be in soon too.

I wanted a pair for casual use so the dark doesn't quite suit my wardrobe. I think the dark edges look great on the Cigar LWB and will be very nice with the dark uppers, just not the right fit for me as I wear mostly jeans and chinos with only a few casual trousers mixed in.

Self Edge NYC is located right across the st. They can usually have them shorten them up for you prior to shipping them out
