So there is someone on this forum that insists on being called uncle? While I wouldn't abide I don't see the big deal.

On another note I always liked the low too canvas lace up vans. I've got
Some killer Hawaiian print ones

In the 90's and early 2000s I used to make yearly trips to Italy with an empty suitcase and return with Italian shoes galore. The $ was strong and life was good.

Proud nephew here. Much respect to Uncle Mac.

Anyone know if Unionmade typically does a run/stocks the Halleck boots every year, or were those a one off design?  Going to email them, but figured I'd check on here first.

Once a year, if that, given supply issues.

It's unusual to wear a full size difference in the two lasts. Most wear the same size in them.

I really like the conversation that was going on a little while back about everyone's "Grail" and whether or not they own it. What about the shoe or boot that doesn't exist?

What would you MTO if you could?

My dream MTO's:

- Color 4 Wingtip Boot with Antique Edge on Commando with Brass Eyelets (all eyes) and a pull tab.

- Cigar Naval Boot with Antique Edge on Commando with Brass Eyelets and pull tab.

- Whiskey Cap Toe boot on Grant/Commando.

Interested to see what people come up with!

I have the Little Tanks and they are among my most comfortable boots.

Before my Alden addiction I was a big fan of AE and Cole Haan. Dress shoes are not a big part of my daily routine so even now my Alden purchases are geared towards business casual or casual. Way before I got interested in Alden's or shoes I was into quality cowboy boots. Pretty normal in Texas is wearing cowboy boots. Most people I know have not spent the bucks I have to get into higher level boots. Leaving exotic hides out of the mix, a good custom cowboy boot starts at $1000 for cowhide and I got a lot of boots 30 years or older.

Am I crazy to buy the Color 8 wing tip boot for a winter staple, if my only other dress shoes are color 8 longwings? Or should I get the brown CXL wingtip boot instead. Both commando sole from Carmel.

Someone make the decision for me!

Get the number 8 wingtip; it's a strong choice.
