Anyone know the difference in leather and color between the Winn Perry and the Frans Boone Grant lasted captoe boots?

Exact opposite of the advice I got from Robert in the SF store. He said keep your Brannock width and adjust length: half size down for Barrie, TTS for Plaza.

King LWB today. They get better looking to me each time they get on my feet, what a fantastic shoe.

Hi Guys!

I wanted to introduce myself here. I'm the Sales Director at Epaulet and I'll be checking in from time to time to see what you all are up to! The Alden community here is tight-knit, so we're super proud to have one of your own @TO Tie Guy behind one of our latest pre-orders.

If you guys have questions about anything Alden/Epaulet related, please feel free to email me at dylan[@]epauletnewyork.com

Nice to meet you all!

I think the grey area comes when you are between a size or width. The most accurate analysis I've found is from Alden of Carmel.

I just nabbed a NEW pair of LHS in #8 off Ebay for $360. Was someone here bidding on those? I think I got a helluva deal. I'll know in 3 to 5 days.

So I just got my #8 shell indy boots from J crew.  I ordered a 9.5d. I wear an 8.5d in the barrie last.  They didn't have an 8.5d so I got some 9.5s fully intending to swap them for 8.5 when they came in.  Anyway, I put them on and they're almost there. I'm thinking that I should try to get a 9d.  I get some small heel slip with these. However, fully lacing them on kinda keeps my feet in the boot.

This is my first pair of alden shell boots and first experience with the trubalance last. Are alden shell boots less roomy than alden shoes? Will they expand alot with wear?  I only have shell and calf alden shoes. No boots.

What do you guys think?

This is exactly what I didn't want to hear. I was hoping the sizing was straight forward

It never is. I'm annoyed at everyone around here saying Barrie = Trubalance. I comfortably wore an 8.5D in Indy boots, and trying to squeeze my foot into an 8.5D longwing felt like I was on some lotus foot binding deal.

I think the people saying they are the same have narrow feet, so they just don't notice the change in width/volume between the lasts.
