We all know this posturing is going to an end with you buying them. Might as well just get it out of the way now.

Are they going to have a split or flat welt? Seriously considering them as my first venture into the Plaza last

Flat welt. I think it's a cleaner look with the Plaza.

The copy is not fully updated yet. There are just the 3 preorders this go round. I am not sure of the total price but I am confident it will be between 550-595.

Post in the Epaulet thread with that question and Mike will give you more definitive response.

I just pre ordered both the snuff and the indys and I think I need to go join AA (Alden Anonymous)

TO, Are they giving you a cut ?:fistbump:

Lol! No cut. But having someone buy into a design you have been after is cool!

Very cool indeed! But IMO, they would have been a tad better with all eyelets and no hooks!:fonz:

I went back and forth on that quite a bit. In the end practicality won out. I really hate having to take off and put on my all eyelet boots!

+1.  Definitely would have ordered if they were all eyelets.  Not a hook fan at all.

Agreed. Although I love the look of all eyes, its so much easier with hooks. I'm back and forth myself.

That said, Alden's hooks could be a bit sturdier. I always end up having one either twist/turn or pinch closed. So even though, in my opinion, they seem inferior to other brands hooks, its indeed "speedier" to use hooks over all eyes. Practicality wins.

how much extra time is it to tie/untie the boots without hooks? i read this complaint all the time. I never noticed a difference.

I think eyelets are actually faster.  On and off.
