I really like the look of the color 8 PCT boot, though. Does anyone else stock something similar? I was apparently seconds too late for the last Leffot naval boot pre-order. =(

I was indeed considering the plain toe versions (4060 on Grant or maybe the 4070H on Barrie), but I would really prefer the perforated cap toe, if possible.

I am a 12 on the brannock, and an 11.5D Barrie last is usually pretty good (with the exception of the J.Crew model which I've read other people wear TTS).

I'm weary of trying a 12D J.Crew boot because the 11.5D almost comes all the way together when lacing with my skinny ankles.

Advice?

In other news, a very nice pair of 11.5D J. Crew color 8 PCT boots are about to go on the market..

hmm sold off a pair before, been thinking about getting them again.

im 11.5-12d in most aldens, if you'd be interested in a possible trade etc, shoot me a pm.

thanks!

excuse the minor thread jack but where did you score the buckshots? I've been mulling over a pair and see them every so often on ebay, just haven't been sized and feel a little iffy on pulling the trigger.

smile.gif Pull the trigger.

Got them at Cheaney website. They were the oem for the Gieves & Hawkes ones. About $500 shipped but I'm also expecting a customs bill from FedEx. Sizing is pretty similar to Tricker's 4497. To make this tangentially related to Alden, I take 10.5US in Barrie and got these in 9.5UK.
They also have a shoe model in two different colors.

fuuu now I'm gonna be researching them when I get to the hotel tonight.. After those plaza captoe ravellos from this week, and the snuff BB boots, I need a break. Or atleast try and move a model out of the rotation to offset some buckshots.

thanks for the info!

Enjoy. Ignore the US price as the exchange rate they use is wonky. They charge in GBP.

for the 4060 boot should I go TTS or a size down. I've heard TTS on this site, but the madison rep I talked to said most people size down. Any advice?

Mike, I read through and didn't see any typos. Somehow I'm extremely good at finding typos, but not so good at avoiding them myself.

I'm curious as to why you believe it best to not apply too much force with the brush. Please share if you don't mind.

Thanks for posting. Hope you get those videos up one day..

i go 0.5size down. The fit is fine, but the crease appear before the cap toe. Dont know is there any relationship between them.

However, I read some old post in sf that when the crease appear at the toe box area, it probably a signal of too long. Cant figure out why the crease start at the toe box area even size down for the grant last, it was very snug already.

I went down half a size for my 4060s. TTS would have been long for me. I believe the grant last is one of those 'in-between' lasts where it could vary person to person.

They appear to be the Ravello LWB done for the Ludlow Shop (J. Crew) from a few years back.
