Good choice and nice boot! I wore mine in NYC for a couple days a few weeks ago while it was snowing and raining. They held up really well. Enjoy them!

Cold spell (Mid-60s) the last couple of days.  Out come the Tankers.

I have a question that I would like to have yor answers and advice.
I notice that the shade of the shell is less shiny than other shell that I have from alden.

I can imagine that the shoes might have been in stock for some time. Does this anything have to do with it? Or is just the shell batch that in this case was different?

What kind of maintenance should I apply to them in this specific case in order to bring a shinier color to them?

Much appreciated for your answers

Thank you

Such wonderful boots! I just missed out on the next choco tanker order. My fault for waiting a week between emails. I've learned my first lesson of the Alden game. Now it would be at least 2 years :brick:

Enjoy!

I have shell like that as well. It normally is a less smooth shell surface on my pairs.

I have shell at both ends of the spectrum. Super smooth/shiny and bumpy/dull. I have not tried anything to make the bumpy stuff shine as I think only a layer or two of wax would cure it.

I understand your concern and would like to throw a few opinions on that.  I personally like my shell to have a warm look, not super shiny like gloss paint., nor dull like flat paint, just warm glow like a satin paint finish.  No doubt I've got some Alden shells that are duller, and some more shiny.  In most cases brushing fixes that, and if necessary mist some water on and buff more.  Keep in mind every shell is a little different it is all natural material and variances will occur.  The pair in your photo looks awesome to me!

Well I just received my 2nd pair of "suede nst" boots from jcrew bc there was a spot on the first pair. However I received a Indy 405 burnished tan boot inside of a nst box. Very interesting!! Called CS and told them about it and am going to head to the mall to return both pairs
