Snuff Suede WT boot
Brass Hardware
Commando Sole

This is what I need right now!

I'm in if you nix the brass and build it on Barrie.  Great boot!  Just not a fan of brass eyelets.

These are similar, but they are on the Aberdeen last....I love them....in my experience scotch grain is much tougher than alpine grain.....they are more of a brown tone than appears under office lighting

Brick + Mortar has this boot exactly.

Go to town!

If I can get people committed to this:

Snuff Suede WT Boot
Brass Eyelets
Commando Sole
Barrie

I will do the leg work in trying to get someone to go for making it.

PM me.

They do, but for some reason they do not have the broguing along the back/heel portion of the boot.  All of their wingtip  boots have always seemed like they were never completed.  I guess it isn't that bad...

I never noticed that. Mind you the pictures are not fantastic but this boot definitely has the heel brouging, and the other in stock WT boot does not.. strange.

Broke the cigar LWBs out of hibernation for this trip. Tonight may be their first wear in months...
What can I say, I'm a boot guy.

AoM CXL perf captoes today. Two days in a row of Barrie and calf for me. Also, I'm sadly and slowly realizing that an 11d on Barrie is a much better fit for me than 10.5d. It's amazing how much time and money it takes to figure out sizing (although, in my defense, I'm pretty sure that taking up running again has changed my feet a bit).

Thanks Mike! I have no idea where these LWBs came from as I bought them previously loved. Any theories anyone? I have always guessed Carmel but don't know.

Filson Small Duffle. Great overnight bag (even a weekend if you pack smart) Fits my toiletry bag, a pair of boots, 2 outfits and room for a little bit more.
Maybe it would be more fitting to this post if I describe the bag as dope...

I just saw this on the J Gilbert site....

Summer/Fall 2015:

Brown scotch grain six eyelet handsewn Norwegian front blucher, Plaza last, single oiled outsole.

It's warming up in Texas. Grill duty tonight. I thought my grilling apron complemented the #8 nicely.

First, these ladies are spoken for. Second, they don't make them often. However, my pair is from this year's run for alden of Madison. You should build a relationship with that shop and start praying.

But the faddishness of Alden's current place (and cordovan's talismanic status) in fashion confounds me to a degree. To me, it's repurposing and/or re-emergence of Fogey style.

Not sure if you can call it a fad considering how few people would even be aware of the brand outside of a couple of mens fashion forums.  Contrast that to allen edmonds which seems to have a cheering squad in the fashion thread of every general discussion internet community out there (wouldn't be surprised if they were running some kind of viral marketing campaign tbh).  I would guess that the proportion of people buying wingtips or something ornate/fancy/"fogey" is heavily over represented in a forum like this.  If you happen to like their plain toe oxfords a bit more than the competition and buy to wear to business meetings you probably aren't going to rush home to post a picture of it.

The cordovan obsession is bizarre (to me) too though.  If I didn't know better I would probably have assumed it was some kind of cheap synthetic material.  The idea that it's more durable than regular leather seems like a weird way of looking at it too - it's not like cordovan shoes or even boots were meant to be worn in rugged terrain - it's clearly a fashion piece.  And the folds are probably more of a nuisance than the regular wear that shows on a standard leather dress shoe.
