I've been really interested in those too and nearly picked them up at one of BB's 30% off sale. I wasn't sure about the last and was similarly confused about the color, however.

And a maiden voyage for these today. My first Alden saddles and bals; they were hard to resist at $225 brand new.

These came in on Monday, finally wore them today. They were a Ravello shortwing run for Leather Soul back in 2013? Direct sunlight they have a red-ish tint to them, is that normal for Ravello?

Never been done.  There was a couple of ravello runs in this model for LS.  It personally is my quintessential Alden grail.

Those are fantastic!

I think Ravello ranges quite a bit through the years from the browns all the way to more reddish tones.

Thanks!  I didn't notice how red they looked until I saw them in the sunlight, it's amazing how the tones change so much with shell with lighting

That makes sense, I guess that adds to the uniqueness of shell that I like so much!  :)

Actually it doesn't suck. Just use the scanner at Pre Check instead of the detector. Shoes stay on, very quick, never have been questioned about why I want the scanner. All ya gotta do is ask.
