corn starch on top immediately. Let sit for a couple days and hope for the best. Otherwise, it may be time to "dub" them. They are boots. But if you use them for dress purposes, that may be a moot point.

I encourage anyone to swing in and check them out and then afterwards come out to meet the Philly Alden guys cool.gif

I didn't take any offense.  I noticed that Sherman Bros. had been the butt of the "exotics haven't been made recently..."  a bunch of times and I just wanted to be sure their reputation wasn't damaged.  It was a bit funny that they hadn't known about all of the recent ravello and whiskey released.

Thanks...I took action quickly but didn't think or know to use cornstarch...I used some grease fighting detergent and out it on so it would not set...

Yeah these were not worn for real boot purposes so it is annoying..will see how they turn out. just got all my suede out this morning to re nano them this week...

I spilled oil on some suede shoes and used a similar technique. Ground baby powder into the stain to absorb the oil. Let it sit, brushed it off, and reapplied a number of times. Worked well.

Great PSA! Wish they had the CT boots in my size... Might call them and ask if they will honor the price when they get my size back in stock.

in my 2 purchases this week (!) I decided to:

size half down on van last  (unlined LHS)

a TTS on abardeen (King Tassel)

and I believe I should have gone as well half size down on my Grant lasted boots.
