Not quite the same, but check out Essential Elements.  They have some Natty CXL Daytrippers.  They had told me they had 7.5, 8, 9, and 10's in stock still.  Grant last, commando sole.

I have the JCrew ones and would really like the Essential Elements ones as well, but I wear a 9.5 in Grant.

Thanks Mike . . . they're actually king, not black.  Could have used your photography skills there.  :fistbump:  Spring turns into summer here within about three weeks, so gotta enjoy it while you can!

Thanks all who responded regarding TB / Barrie sizing.  It's good to know that I'm not the only one that Barrie = TB doesn't work for.  It's just such a standard point that I needed to check.

And speaking of TB, my well-worn natty CXL Indys got some use today:

I just always assumed that Barrie was as large as it gets.  A 9D Barrie is the sweet spot for me with boots but any more room and they will likely be too big.

My preference are the Indy's but there are a couple of boots on ebay that I like almost as much, with both auctions ending in a few days. So my question is simply does anyone know whether the boots are on Trubalance or Barrie? Unfortunately the jcrew SA doesn't know and the description doesn't say.

Here's a link to the boots.......

They had taken it down but apparently they got a few larger sizes available. As always, any input is appreciated.

J Crew Indy's are invariably TB… TB is the default Indy last…

The default last would be TB i'm pretty sure. Thats definitely what the picture would lead me to believe as well. TB is a bit more roomy but I do the same size as Barrie.

I canceled my order so thats why an 11 is available. Not sure why the link went active again either. I picked up some goodies from AoSD so needed to free up some funds. Sadly cheap shell had to go. But I'll have a pair on the Plaza last this year hopefully to make up for it.

Pretty sure every Indy jcrew has ever offered is TB and those look like no exception.

Hey guys, figured I'd shed some light on this. While the TB last is most definitely the default for most Indy boots, we still can't really make the assumption and be safe. I will remind everyone that the J. Crew burnished tan Indy on crepe is shaped over the Barrie last. I (like most of you) never would have guessed that, but there was quite a few of them listed on TSM 2nds lists. TSM specified last. I also inquired and they confirmed.

As far as TB vs Barrie sizing goes. I feel pretty comfortable going 7.5D across the board. My J.Crew PCT are a 8D, but that's my own sizing error and I'm willing to just live with it, as it's not major. I feel like the TB boot is meant to be roomy in the toe. It's a work boot and has a much more orthopedic focus. The forefoot and toes need to be able to really spread for true foot health. I think we get pretty used to wanting to compress our foot to the max while still maintaining some comfort. There is a reason true orthopedic shoes look like potatoes... Beauty isn't particularly comfortable.

Edit: jcrew burnished tan indy is not on Barrie last

Well, I owned a pair of the J Crew burnished tan Indy's on crepe for about 4 months and have a bunch of photos of them as well, and they 100% were not barrie. Not even close. Same as my other Indy's and Tankers…  not to throw any confusion into the subject : )

That's so bizarre... I couldn't believe it, so I asked multiple sources and they all confirmed that they were on the Barrie last. I sent an email to J. Crew, but never heard anything back regarding the last. TSM seems certain that they were on Barrie.

Wow, that is bizarre…anyone else out there got a pair??? (everyone is probably sleeping)

I think the most likely explanation is that the sweet folks over at TSM were simply overwhelmed during that whole 2nds list season and made a mistake on the listing of the last. Which is what I assumed when I first saw that they were listed as Barrie, hence the further iquiry. I thought it too good to be true; however, when they assured me they were on Barrie I believed them. Guess I just wanted it to be true so badly...

It is also possible that the ones listed on TSM were; in fact, lasted over the Barrie, but weren't for J. Crew. I kind of remember the model number matching up with the J.Crew one, though. Also, I cannot think of anyone else selling a burnished tan Indy on crepe.

I'm visiting Cleveland and Pittsburgh in a month or so for a week for work (I'm based in Europe and don't visit often) and would like to get hold of a pair of the unlined Alden suede Chukkas in snuff. Is there a stockist that might carry these in either of these cities? If not I might take the risk and order some to the hotel but I am a little nervous of the sizing as I have a wide (ish) foot. In the UK I take a 10.5 on both the Loake capital last and the 026, any advise please? Thanks.
