Or maybe he realized how badass a pt can be based on your Walter Boot pic. I'm regretting grabbing a pair of Walter boots and that i missed the RydanBoot, based on your pic.

I think Breck got it right. It was a compliment!

I definitely think he could have elaborated on his point to make it less vague, haha.

Actually I picked up a few different ones. The longest one lasted for five wears. I could gets a bunch of small ones and stick them all over the inside of the boot but I would just rather not. Im probably being too difficult and should just shut up and wear the boots. Thanks for the response!

Is English perhaps not his first language?  Because even if he meant no harm, the cancellation is kind of douchy and childishly written if you had an agreement and he just decided to back out at the last minute.

OK?

Gr.

Edit: probably should not be so judgmental - English almost definitely not first language

Uh,
Was reading this and wanted everyone to know that I am not the "GR" mentioned here. I am on the East Coast and have too much corporate compliance training. So I would find it difficult to back out of an agreement!

Like the way they look, but they don't fit my hard to fit feet so well!

Went and picked up some 975 locally today, ended up in disappointment. Turns out the right shoe was a display model, was tough to tell in the store and the SA put some Alden paste wax on them. When I got home and investigated in the natural light I was not thrilled. So these will be heading back probably tomorrow and hopefully they have another 7.5D for me. It's too bad because the cordovan quality and the overall construction in regards to the stitching on these are beautiful and look flawless.

I could live with the issues if it wasn't a stock model (only because you wouldn't have many other options lol), no point keeping these unless they offer some sort of discount on them imo, waiting to hear back via email.

Some poor finishing on the vamp of the right shoe, worst spot being up by the laces before the tongue.

^^^Burz,

To me sitting on a 27' IMac with high rez screen I can barely tell.  Especially from the top down.  From the side is a bit more noticeable, but not much at all really.

I agree that a stock model "should" be pristine.  However, I have bought stock Alden's that looked worse than that.

The vamp issue is a little bigger deal, but could be fixed by a few light coats of wax...

Yes, I agree with you, if they were to discount them it would be much better.

the ligher shade on the right foot would bug the crap out of me, regardless of it being rare or not.

+1... Bad way to do business. If the seller was having second thoughts, he should have taken them off the market, not agree to a sale, send a PP invoice to the buyer, and then change his mind.
