I'm 8.5D. No problems getting myself added to the Tanker pre-order. For reference, here is what I wrote in my email to them:

"I'd like to put down a deposit for the next run of Tanker boots you're doing. Can I pay via PayPal? If so, please send the request to this email address"

I put in for 12.5 D...received the paypal invoice so believe I am good to go.

Interesting, I much prefer the Aberdeen NST. You get more toe stitch going on, more bang for the buck! ;-)

up until I saw them side by side I thought I liked the Aberdeen better too...now it seems like on the Aberdeen to my eye that the vamp stitching(the V or Indy pattern part) to the NST stitching looks more like a decorative add than a construction style, while on the Barrie it seems like that is how it needed to be made to hold the boot together....not sure if I am explaining that well at all. The Barrie also seems less slick which for my attire is probably a better fit.

and I am certainly not going to turn down an NST Aberdeen boot though.....

Well I sent context a photo of the antique edge I was hoping for and asked them to confirm. Half the battle (or more) in sales is costumer service. I find their email responses to be not helpful.

While I would prefer they be the lighter antique if not then I will be having my edge dressing sanded and lightened..I actually dig the contrast of the dark welt and lighter sides.. assuming they are a perfect fit..then I will be converting to brass eyelets also. I am despising Alden speedhooks more and more every day.

I also prefer eyelets over Alden's speedhooks. To me they feel cheap on a otherwise well made boot. I wish alden would use the same hooks I have on my red wing work boots. They are more durable and also rounded off to avoid trouser hem damage.

Reseller with huge markups. Alden can't be thrilled with it, I bet.

If those Plaza boots were a few hundred cheaper, I would be all over them.

I thought it was against Alden policy for shops to photo and post exotic shells on the web?

It's not an Alden authorized shop. He is getting the shoes from retailers and flipping them.

There are a lot of sizes though.  Must be an interesting shopping trip, with a cadre of bag handlers...

He's probably giving others money to Order and buy the shoesfor him and then pays them a fee. He in turn takes the boots and asks them up. He's using "Mules." I kmow

Just noticed some simplified Chinese characters show up on the web site page title. Looks like it is run by some Chinese reseller, at a SF East Bay location (510 area code).

Unrelated observation. I remember seeing at least three pairs of NIB #2 LWB of different sizes on ebay from a reseller in Hong Kong. The guy must be a relative of Adam.
