Congrats on getting the exotics out! You may want to consider somewhere that allows you to wear them year round! Or invest in some Tingleys.

I agree. That is my favorite thing about lighter shell shades.

Looks great Don! I visited with Kathy today and apologize for anyone trying to call between 11-12 with no success. These looked great and so did the Whiskey LWBs. Enjoy them. Amazing how much chunkier they look due to the Commando compared to the Daytrippers.

Couldn't resist-- I put in an order for the brown cxl NST boot.

I am not a penny loafer guy, but I really liked the look of the navy hand sewn mocc (up near the flowers in this pic) Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Finally, who doesn't love a wall of Alden boxes?

Looking great SS! Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to visiting there myself!

I really like the Navy Suede LHS myself.

Those Cigar Indys are terrific and you should be happy with those pups. Glad to hear you plan to give them good wear. The USPS snafu will be water under the bridge in no time.

I have an order in for the J.Crew Shell Alden Indys in size 9D with the 25% discount. Estimated delivery is the end of March. I am planning on cancelling this order in the next couple days as I think I am not going to be happy with the crepe sole. If somebody on here want them let me know and you can have them for the price I paid plus shipping.

Hello everyone,

This week I purchased my first two pairs of Alden's... A pair of Epaulet Alt Wiens, and Jcrew LWBs.

Unfortuantely, neither fit me and are going back, and I'm hoping some of you can help me out.

I'm a 10 on a Brannock device. So I ordered a 9 and a 9 1/2. Both were HUGE on me.

Or were they? Where is the end of your toe supposed to fall in these shoes? in the 9 1/2, I had a thumb and a half between the end of my big toe and the inside of the shoe. On the 9's, slightly less. This is too big, correct? I ordered a replacement pair of Alt Wiens in 8 and will hope for the best... but two full sizes below my Brannock size? Does that sound crazy?

Please help. I am hoping this doesn't turn into weeks of various shoe sizes passing each other in the post....

Congrats on joining the Alden club. Sorry about your sizing fun.

It sounds crazy to me. Most go down 0.5 from their TTS on the Barrie Last. However, there shouldn't be a ton of toe room. Are you measuring your Brannock standing up?

How did the shoes feel? Did it feel like you were going to walk out of them?

Hi guys,

PSA for people who are interested in the tanker boot on color 8 shell. I just found out from Context that their color tanker 8 has an antique edging, a feature that most of us were waiting for in the Leffot version. This was confirmed by Context via email, however their website still shows the older version with a black edge. The only difference versus the Leffot version at this point is the reverse welt vs. flat welt on Leffot.

They have a list going with 7 spots left, as soon as they fill those the order will be submitted. Email them at support@contextclothing.com to get in on the preorder.

I don't work for Context but thought I'd let everyone know and get the order submitted sooner =). Full make up detail:

Last: Barrie
Design: Tanker
Material: color 8 shell
Welt: reverse
Edge: antique
Sole: commando
Hooks+eyelets
Pull tab

It has a pull tab?! Interesting and not done too frequently.
Shouldn't really be like that. I size down 1/2 for Barrie (10 c) compared to my tts (10,5 c)but can also wear 1 size down with 1/2 size up width (9,5 d).
Give your toes some room, they will thank you in the future.

sounds like the makeup i got from NY but with pull tabs, which would be a welcome addition.

They didn't really feel like they were going to fall off, but they did feel like I would be tripping over the toe in my usual stride.

Well, to be honest with you, I kept the 9s. The 9 1/2 were just ridiculous, and the 9's were slightly less so. So, if the 8's are too tight/small, I'll try to find an 8 1/2.

Such a pain, but after examining these shoes, I think it is worth the hassle. I have a pair of cheap-o dress shoes that say size 10 1/2 in them that fit me very well, and my big toe is only about a pinky's width from the inside edge of the shoe. When I put them next to the size 9 LWBs, the LWBs looked HUGE.

The size 8s will be here Friday.. .here's hoping...

You may want to consider going narrower also! I wear a 10.5B on the Barrie. I use width to compensate for the more generous toe box on the Barrie Last.
