Barrie is definitely a bit bigger in the same size...but not by much IMHO.

I'm actually the same as you Watchman1...  The barrie gives me a little room width wise and not much lengthwise.  The plaza seems to trim away some of the excess.  I actually prefer a little extra room so the barrie works exceptionally well for me (I do like the plaza also).  There are a couple of models my normal barrie size is too roomy;  brown chrmxl LWB on commando and the black shell ct boots.  I placed tongue pads under the vamp area inside the shoe to adjust.  I know this is highly unorthodox, but the fit becomes soooooooo comfortable/perfect.  I suspect my barrie size is may bey C width, but for many of my LWBs and PTBs going to C would make them less comfortable.

Sir, I think you are another victim of Alden QC.  There is definitely unacceptable color variation in your ravello LWBS!

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

mdubs LWBs are so nice, I would probably still wear this pair.  Maybe hope that over time, they would both mellow to the same color!

For those who have purchased seconds on crepe sole, how are these marked as seconds?

Hi all

I'm new to the thread so forgive me if this question has been posted before.  I bought a pair of Alden cordovan monkstraps on eBay and they have a problem in that the elastic holding the buckle has perished.  Do you know if this is a cheap fix? BTW I'm in the UK so sending to Alden would presumably be prohibitively expensive. Looks like this:

AppleMark

is there any shop selling the tanker boot ?

If your are in the UK then there are plenty of cobblers there who are competent enough to repair that.

You will want to take them there and ask that fine chap what he can do for you.

Mine are headed back north for some reason. VA to MD. I'm in GA. Odd thing was I had two orders. Both left CT and the same time. One got here on time Friday. Gonna have to make a call it seems.
