The above reminded me of an ask from last week.
My son asked me why I was laughing while reading the Alden thread. I said something to the effect of, "all these guys were waiting for these boots, see? then this guy who has only posted once before was the first to show pictures of those boots, see? then everyone goes crazy, see?" My son told me that it wasn't that funny and asked that I post his new Florsheim wingtip boots...
I love that! Thanks for posting those rad wingtip florsheims.
You are brave: I eould nit d as re tell my 12-year-old boy about reading a thread about shoes. I would get mau-maued mercilessly, treated with utter old-fogey contempt about that.
Took ny boy to NYC this Summer and took him to MOMA. Saw some paintings in different shades of white. He asked me why these ninoaintings were in a museum and why I was making him waste his life looking at them. I explained the intellectually of modern art or maybe the art was about how it made him feel feel - even annoyed. He made me take a photo of his shoes snd send it to MOMA asking that MOMA buy the photo from him and display it. He explained that the shoes were lonely and bored and depicted the ennui of a vibrant young boy stuck wasting his time looking at crap when he could be playing in Central Park.
