I would jump on this if they ran it... Assuming I were able to complete the checkout process in the four seconds it takes EP shell orders to sell out...

I've had a nice back and forth going with Mike.

I'm waiting on inn8chro's boots to arrive and the jawdropping pictures he takes. I think they need 18 to do an order (which would be late spring). Maybe if we have 18 commitments, we can submit the order with credit card info directly and we won't have to deal with the flood of shiest that normally occurs during their preorders.

We have time for that....

Hey guys, I'm looking for some help in cleaning up my whiskey indy's. I bought these used and was hoping somebody might have some tips to subdue or remove the dark marks in the creases as well as trying to remove some of the dark scuffs. Thanks for your help.

I have the same boots and have worn them hard over the past few years and mine get looking pretty beat-up every now and then. I think that's part of the appeal/problem with whiskey shell is that it will show every scuff, scratch, stain, and piece of dirt. But that just adds to the eventual patina.

The best thing I've found to get mine cleaned up is a tiny bit of water and a lot of elbow grease with the horsehair brush. After that I'll apply a very light amount of neautral Venetian Shoe Cream and buff that in with a cloth and then get back to work with the horsehair brush. It's seemed to work well for me.

MrDV, beautiful ravellos and lawn!

My lawn is covered in ice/snow.  I can see a little bit of it here with my (loose fitting) chromexcel chukkas with commando!

I will leave that up to everyone. I'd honestly love to see the pictures of the conversion. Again, we have time to kick this around.

When you say a lot of elbow grease do you mean a lot of time or a lot of force while brushing?  I'm more than willing to invest the time, just don't want to do any permanent damage by brushing too hard.  Thanks for the response.

Time mainly, but both really. As long as the bristles on your brush aren't overly stiff, you should be able to put quite a bit of pressure on the boots while brushing without doing any damage.

I think flex points get weak and the pores open up causing those areas to take on the elements (dirt, water, conditioner, polish) when exposed to them over time and it permanently stains the color to a different shade. I cannot see making them much better compared to what they are.

Take that with a grain of salt as it is just my thoughts and have no experience in such stain removal. You do see this with a lot of older burgundy shell though.

Quick PSA -

Tassels HK has a quite a few Aldens on sale included a bunch of rare makeups not really seen in the US. They use EMS shipping to the states so highly unlikely duties. Email them for info / models on sale

My whiskey look the same. I don't really bother with trying to remove the dark creases. Brushing will lessen them a bit, but as Burzan mentioned I think it is deeper in the shell than just laying on the surface. Those boots have an awesome patina. Brush, condition and forget about the creases. IMHO.
