Are there any boots by Alden formal enough to wear with wool(vs cotton or linen) suits?

The most formal you'll get is the 4060 series boots. Straight tip, double leather sole. I have worn mine with a suit, but sorta casually...no tie, open collar. I would probably wear them with a  tie, though. Just didn't on that occasion.

Need quite a bit more info here.  What color wool suit?  What pattern?  Wool flannel or Super 140?  For what level of formality?

The answer is yes and no.  A number of Alden boots would work with more casual suits.  I personally don't think any of the boots work for a strict formal business look but others would disagree.

Yes, but you have to order them online from the USPS website. They come wrapped flat in a package of 15 (I think). There is no cost and the shipping is free as well. They are perfect for shoes but most Alden shoe boxes won't fit. Work great for any shoes/boots without box. This is how it works in the states, not sure about Canada.

Actually, that pretty much answers my questions. Super 100-130 LP fabrics. HF AND BB navy and charcoal suits. One midnight navy(as opposed to true navy like the HF and BB) RLBL.all solid or Birdseye and nailhead

I guess I'll stick with the dress bals then and go to Carmina for boots. Similar question, but do you think the blucher a, particularly the longings would be dress appropriate?

Those free USPS boxes are only supposed to be used for Priority mail service. They'll refuse the package if you try to use it for a different service like those pre-printed return service labels.

^^^+1 on Carmina for a formal boot.

+1 on 975 for a bit dressier blucher.  Alden actually does balmorals well.  See the 9015 and 9016 for further details.

Plaza last shoes whether blucher or balmorals are a home run IMHO.

Thanks!

So after thinking I may need to change sizes in Barrie boots last week I was lucky enough to sell my 7.5D Tankers and purchase a size 8D from @tifosi to give them a go. I have to say so far so good and a much more comfortable fit overall, might still need to still try a 7.5E to curb my curiosity and set my mind at ease lol. Might give 7.5E a go on the next boot preorder I jump on.

I put on a light coat of Saphir dark brown cordovan cream (very eggplant colored) as I wanted to darken the stitching a bit to match what the pair I sold had. Very happy with the results. As most of you know already Saphir makes great products. Past this they will just get the Mac Method and every so often some VSC or Saphir Neutral cream.

They look great on you, @Burzan

Wow, they lace up much tighter on you than they did me.

I hate to see that beautiful color 8 covered up, but still a beautiful boot. I love my Madison Tanks!
