Wow, that is a model we hardly ever see here. But you wear them very well.

Looking great Buz in your Ravello LWBs and Anon socks! Your LWBs seemed to have lightened a bit as well.

A question:  AoC doesn't keep waiting lists for rare shell, nor does Adam do preorders.  As far as I am aware, he doesn't do any advertising of any kind.  How, then, does one actually get rare shell from AoC?

Thanks Mike, really depends on the lighting. In my office they look like an olivey brownvello. In the natural light though they look more like traditional Ravello, I love them no matter what lighting they are in.

I was told to watch this thread for announcements (presumably from other members) and then contact him. But, I've been told he doesn't tend to order above a sz 11 in most cases, yet other members have procured large sizes.

I've come to the realization that I'll just have to look elsewhere.

My Cigar LWB from him are 11.5. He will absolutely order any size you want as long as you pay 50%, the shoe is confirmed, and there is room on the list.

From MY experience, unless you are buds with Adam you are are not getting rare shell.

Ha! I find Adam to be fairly equitable. He is currently only doing LWBs in exotics though and hasn't gotten a lot of allocations lately.

It's this. Or, at least, that's how I was able to get a pair of Cigar LWBs from him. Someone in this thread mentioned he was taking a list and I emailed on got on it.

I'm a 12D on the Barrie last, though, so I don't believe anyone who says he doesn't take larger sized preorders.

And my Cigar LWB purchase was my first purchase from him, so I don't think you have to be buddies.

I have to agree with Mike, Adam has been very fair when it comes to rare shell allocation. I was told to watch this threads as well and was able to purchase both Cigar and Ravello LWB from him.

1. brush vigourously to "warm" up the leather

2. use an old white t shirt and moisten it and wring water out.  Make sure you have a full wood shoe tree underneath.  Wrap your thumb around tshirt and rub on the leather. Really press into it.  You will see the alden finish transfer over to the white shirt. At this point, the shell will look cloudy.

3. brush again and buff up with a microfiber cloth.

4. repeat as necessary.

Solid process C.  That's essentially what you do with the Deer bone but without the oils released from the bone.  There are some that use a spoon rather than the bone or your thumb.  Well done my friend!
