I put a quite a bit of weight into it using the deer bone and cotton buffing cloth. I am very light with my horse hair brush, who's job is to get those nice oils to the surface.

Mike,

Do you use the deer bone with your feet in the shoe, shoe trees in, or empty?  Have you had any instances where the deer bone scuffed or damaged the surface of the shell?  Do I need to worry about that at all when using the deer bone?

Thanks man!

[Edit sorry for the repeat question.  However, I would appreciate hearing about the ones in bold.  Thanks Mike!]

Ravello NST from TSM

nice choice! how does she like them?

Tonight she said as she looked at me head to toe, "You look very handsome. (as her eyes got to my shoes, she said) Are those new!"  I replied, "No, I have had these for nearly two years." (Really more like 1.5 years)

I think she likes them but was surprised to see another "new" pair.  I avoid initiating conversations about my shoes/boots...  sort of a don't ask don't tell policy. :uhoh:

Congrats....I had no interest in the Indy and now have three.....great boot and wear them often...They only get better.

+1, I also had no interest in the Indy until I found a pair BNIB for an offer I could not refuse.  They truly are a great all-purpose boot.  Enjoy!

then that makes a little more sense, but we still don't know the actual total? anyone?

Aiki, who's are you referring to? ShoeMart had a run come in on December 31st. Alden of Carmel had a run come in early October. Alden NY and Alden DC both have runs in production with an any day eta to my knowledge.

It probably doesn't help if you are taking pictures of your shoes during dinner. Haha.

I also excluded a few shoes from the list for a reason or two. 2014 for me was about trading in from 10D to 10.5B. Most of my Barrie shoes were sold last year. I still came out heavily on the gain side though.

I have scratched the surface of the shell on more than a few instances while using the bone. This generally happens when I am not paying close enough attention and do not use the flat side of the bone. Or when the bone moves in my hand and causes a scuff. All of those scratches went away with a bit of Venetian and light brushing.

The pics were from just before we left.  I wouldn't dare take shoe-selfies out at dinner! :rotflmao:
