Erik, those are absolutely splendid. I am hoping they will redo the Color 8 version of these, let alone a Cigar version! My Color #2 Longwings are unglazed as well. Same as the JGilbert Color #4 Saddles.

Alden Wingtip Boot

I haven't been able to keep up with this thread but anyone can quickly give me merchants that have NATCXL wingtip or NST boots with a commando sole? I know TSM has the wingtip but with double leather...

Thanks and I hope everyone is well (I see many are double dipping in the EG/G&G threads here too) biggrin.gif

Great work and way to keep them coning!

I went on a little bit of a run on Alden orders this week:

  • Epaulet Taunton Alpine Grain boots (preorder)
  • Leathersoul brown CXL captoe "vanguard" boots
  • Cigar Shell LWBs

:slayer: Treat yo self!

I actually go tts with barrie, but it is a bit roomy. I go...

Barrie - 10D

Aberdeen - 10E (or sometimes 10.5D but it's a little too long)

Hampton - 10D

Van - 10C

Plaza - 10D

Grant - 10D

Trubalance - 10D (My Indies are 10D and they work well, but I think I would go down to 10C the next time as they are very roomy)

An SA at a small boutique men's clothier in Baltimore once told me that your sizing shouldn't really change from last to last as each one is designed fit a particular way.  For example, the Aberdeen shoes should feel snug and narrow as they make up Alden's dressiest model.  Trubalance Indies are work boots that are suppose to feel wide and roomy to accommodate thicker socks and more workability.  He actually sounded a bit annoyed that many here wear a wide range of sizes between the different lasts.

I haven't intentionally followed his advice, but I think my sizing similarities throughout the different lasts has more to do with my foot being more of a 10.25D for a US tts.

Or do you just wear a few of the same pairs much more than the others?

My friend, Dubsy bought 55 pairs of shoes in 2014.  He can go half a year wearing a different pair of shoes each day!  :nodding:

Thanks a million.

This is invaluable information.  I wish I would have found this thread earlier, like, before I dropped a bunch of $$$ on boots and shoes that fit me ok, but not my ideal size.

Here is where I'm at....my right foot is a 10EE and my left a 10E.  So, it makes for a tricky fit.

I want to switch my rotation over to all Alden.  So, I have some off-loading and re-upping to do.

Those 10E Alden Barrie are perhaps the most comfortable fitting shoe out of box.  Same could be said about Hampton, Grant and Plaza as well.

Crap, you counted them? I intentionally did a bulletized list versus a numbered list.

Love these with a natural edge and welt. Perfect casual boot.

Those Color 8 Boots look terrific and that natural edging is a killer combination!
