I've seen some other shell offerings but I've not seen a whiskey bag. Brooks Brothers sells a few color 8 shell cordovan briefcases. I talked to Nick Horween once and he gave me a list of a few others who sell them.

yes, i'm sure i could make it work. i'm just trying to talk myself out of that beautiful bag.

I just got these 40723c boots in the other day! Brown alpine grain, built on the grant last, and with a commando sole.

It's a great combo and I think they will pair nice with a suit and denim.

:slayer::slayer:, they look very nice.

Wow! Amazing! You wear them really well! And the denim is well hemmed and cuffed!

I am thinking about picking up a pair of snuff suede loafers, but cannot decide between the penny or tassel. Which do you guys prefer? The dress code at work is business casual. I assume the penny would be more versatile. Thanks guys.

Gentlemen,

I am just asking here, but are there any of you that take the Barrie TTS?

Or am I the only freak of nature that does?

Thanks!

I actually love the BB version of the snuff tassels. Given the material, I think they'd be every bit as versatile as the snuff LHS. I don't think you'd able to wear a suit with either, unless it were a summer suit (linen, seersucker, etc)

If you have a wide forefoot, a high instep, and a wide/substantial heel, Barrie TTS would work pretty well I think (as long as you don't mind the little bit of extra length)

I have a low instep and go true to size on Barrie.............it's just more comfortable than sizing down for me. There is not much gap on either side of the lacing but I need the toe room

Thanks! Just checked those out, they do look great! I believe that will be my next pair.

When I was growing up all my buddies said I had "Fred Flintstone" feet.......:foo:

Anyway, I think I have just found a new favorite last.  In another thread, I think it was Namor......said that you can tell if a shoes fits you properly by the creasing on the vamp of the cordovan.

If that is true, these are the best creasing/rolling I have ever experienced on cordovan.  :nodding:

for both my grant 9D, and Barrie 8D. i dont feel the tip of my big toe touching the top of the toebox, its only the 4th and 5th toes that are in contact with the side of the toebox.

It is possible that you may want to go 8.5E on Barrie and 9E on Grant.  The BEST option is to go into an Alden dealer who has many different styles and sizes and get fitted properly.

I think I just have irregular feet where one is larger than the other.

I recently went out and purchased a pair of Thorogood 6" moc toe boots and tried on an 8.5D, 8.5EE and 9D and all were very loose, but I also have a high instep and felt discomfort when trying these sizes on. I finally tried on an 8EE and lo and behold, they fit perfectly and I haven't experienced any pain in my pinky toe or with my instep. In short, you would be better off trying a wider last on in person. You could be an 8.5E or an 8E.

hmm, thanks for the advice guys...
i been wearing my barrie recently, trying to think about how to go about the sizes on my side as well.
A question that i got on my mind is , how do the shape of the shoe, especially the toebox , changes if say i go from a 8D in barrie to a 8E or a 8.5D or a 8.5E in barrie.

I think for my grant last, going half a size bigger will be too loose fitting, and i should consider going E width, probably have to wear it around some more to figure out if i can stay with size 9 or i can go with 8.5E though.

I definitely wish i could just go down to a dealer and fitted nicely, but the nearest dealer i know off is a 4hr plane ride away.

appreciate all the help given so far.
