Hah. I am Mike W. That is where the name came from. One of my good friends started calling me it randomly. I like it for a screen name.

However I did go in on the Leffot pre-order for the reverse chamois Greenwich boot several months ago. Still waiting. AnyAnyone out there receive their shoe/boot from that preorder? think Leffot offered a chamois LWB, CXL LWB and a natty CXL Indy(?) in addition to the boot I ordered. I preordered a natty CXL LWB at almost the exact same time through a different shop and that shoe just arrived (posted pics yesterday).

FINALLY!!!!!

Hey Guys,

Two questions:

1. Does anyone know of a retailer doing a Whiskey or Ravello Tassel Loafer? (I know Leffot did a Ravello run a few years ago, never seen a Whiskey one in my searches) I spoke with all the factory stores and a few other retailers (Thanks to @mdubs Alden FAQ). Seems to be the real life equivalent of unobtainium. Closest I found was a Cigar Tassel list from Harrison's Ltd.

2. Any other retailers aside from Alden of Carmel sell Color #8 cordovan shoes (preferably a short wingtip) with a commando sole? Alden of Carmel doesn't typically stock my size.

Thanks in advance,

Frank

Frank,

I would love either of those. It's in my queue of models I want to see if I can get someone to make. I had a Leffot Ravello for a week and it was glorious, but too big for me. No one currently has plans in that direction today to my knowledge.

Not sure. You explicitly want a Shortwing Blucher?

Mike,

Thanks for the response. For whatever its worth, last fall I spoke with Kathy from DC and she seemed somewhat receptive to the idea (this was back when she was just getting all those suede tassels), but ultimately I doubt it would happen. Alden of Madison said they used to do whiskey tassels but said they no longer offer them "because the tassels scratch the top of the shoe." Just a pipe dream of mine I suppose, maybe one day.

I'm leaning more towards a short wing (afraid a long wing would look like a clown shoe since my shoe size is an 11.5D). I already own a #8 NST and plain toe shoes don't appeal to me. But anything else I'm open to if you have suggestions.

Thanks,

Frank

I got the email today too. Figured it had to be close, given the fact that another non-shell preorder (from a different retailer) came through for me at the beginning of the week. Happy Friday to all!!

Thank you Sir.  The table is a custom piece made specially for my dear wife.  It is made out of 150 yr old barn wood.  Oak I believe.  A gift from a dear friend who is a "Master Woodworker"

Mike,

You weren't joking about the color on these...something special for sure.

I FINALLY got my Barrie size straightened out.  It has taken a lot of $$$ and persistence.

It must have just been providential that they did not sell sooner.........so I could snag them.  :nodding:

Thanks Brother!
