Leather Soul's alpine grain v-tips look cool as well, but they didn't order E widths in larger sizes

Picked up these from a forum member as my first Alden Shoe (own a few boots) Epaulet Natural CXL.

And these came in from Bnelson today! Would highly recommend him to anybody wanting a resole. They originally had the commando sole with black edge/welt and i wanted something with a little more pop to it. As i have #8 Indy on commando also.

Nice move on the JR soles. IMO, well worth the extra money.

Sorry @BenLeaman  I don't think they look too wide.

Thanks guys!  I love these!  They fit really well and I was nervous about the Trubalance last.  It hugs your foot, but just has tons of toe room.  They're clunky and casual in every way, but I think that's what I wanted for denim on an office-casual day!

Classic!  You're having a pretty sick boot week...

Color 8 WT boot is like porn.

What did the resole job cost you?

My new Tankers from Alden NY arrived. Such a beautiful shade. Can't wait to see the Evo on these bad boys. Here a few poorly lit shots I snapped.

No. See now as @chrisefi realizes they are too wide, I can get them at a discount because they've been worn.
My plan is working perfectly!

Does anyone know if there are any upcoming whiskey models in the works, that aren't a LWB or Wingtip?

as we are both fans of the Modified last how about this description given to me by a friend working at Alden.

"The Modified last is quite a special last and I would not compare it to other lasts. That means, the fitting qualities are unique to the last.

It is designed to give a narrow foot more arch support, so yes, that is why you feel taller - the heel, the inside heel counter, the tight "waist" area of the shoes all gently push your arches upwards, relaxing the insides of your legs and making you back more relaxed as well. And as your arches are pushed up, the toes fall forward and inward - so, again yes, we built more toe room into that last. And THAT is why the sizing is different, because your toes are not exactly extending forward, but rather, falling towards the inside of your body. It feels like a massage all day long, doesn't it ?"

What also is nice is that they have such a wide range of sizes available, so if you size does become different on that last, they should easily be able to accommodate you.

I don't yet own any Alden shoes and would love these to be my first. Anyone know if this is a model they'd stock again? I'd need it in a 7, also, which I fear would be even harder to obtain. Any tips on how to get these longwings?

I also love the look of the brown chromexcel bluchers: http://epauletnewyork.com/products/alden-brown-chromexcel-plain-toe-blucher

Can you guys, who know far more about shoes than I do, tell me how longwings compare to the bluchers as far as formality, versatility, etc.? I like the idea of being able to wear special shoes like these without socks in the summer or paired with a navy suit in the winter. Guidance here would be great. Thanks!
