Anyone here on the Leffot MTO we did for a Ravello Captoe boot on the Barrie? It was submitted in Aug 2011. Should be hearing back with confirmation any....day....now..... icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Oh.  Do they normally take longer than other Alden stores?  I've since acquired "rare shells" since this preorder.  Are they flexible with their cancellation?

Are they the Aberdeen NST dress boot?  I've always been intrigued.  Great looking boot my friend!  Enjoy them often and in great health...

Do you only use the neutral boot cream or do you use the colored boot cream accordingly?

Thay is Aberdeen for sure. It has the longer toe stitch. :-)

I do not know. I don't ever cancel my pre-orders. It is more important to me to keep the relationship with the store. You can always resell them if they are a standard width.

I have not had any issues with Renovateur or VSC but I only have used each very sparingly. I would imagine if you use them way too often or too much, they could do something bad but I have never seen that nor really heard of that happening.

That said, Alden Fine Boot Cream is the cheapest of these and they all probably do the same thing.

I have not used colored cream.
The guys from alden sf recommended the natural cream, that's all I use now.

Would appreciate the perspective of those with more than a handful of Aldens on this...which of the following plain toed shoes do you find yourself wearing the most for practicality (in terms of being suitable for outfit and climate)?

Color 8 PTB

Cigar PTB

Leffot Color 8 Dover (antique edge)

Cigar Dover

Snuff suede Dover

It seems that the more accomplished Alden collectors on here eventually whittle down to Color 8 for shell and/or suede offerings for week-to-week comfort/versatility reasons, despite the sexiness of the rare shells and flashy edging/welts. For reference, I already own the 975 (highly versatile!).
