Correct. They charge then it gets refunded in a couple of days. You won't get charged again until they ship.

Thanks, maybe I just glossed over that part for some reason. Seems a bit odd but if that's how the game is played. If its just a submitted order will they call and let you know that its confirmed. So at least a little heads up?

If you got charged, it means the order is confirmed. TSM should contact you an let you know when the footwear has arrived and that they will be charging you.

Looking for a pair of casual boots, might be indy. Do shell or CXL durable enough for "often wear"?

For casual I would stick to CXL and it is durable enough to wear quite often.

My favorite boots that I continually receive praise/compliments on and can go casual or slightly more dressy are my Indy Color 8s....love them.

Both can be worn quite often and still look great, if that's what you're asking.  Obviously though, they will look "lived-in" with some patina, which is what many here enjoy.

How did you size these. I'm thinking of going from a 9.5D in Barrie to 10.5B in Aberdeen.

I suppose that makes sense. And thinking about it they all wouldn't hit at once anyway. Just adds a new level to planning things out. Thanks.

Sir - these are on the aberdeen last and are true to size.  You should go with your brannock size - I did.  However, the aberdeen last is kinda tricky.  The vamp on these is high enough that I get very minimal heel slip every now and again with thin socks.  Thick socks no issue.  The aberdeen lasted full strap has a lower vamp and I get a little more heel slip.  Not enough to change sizing, and to be honest I have less than 5 wears on each pair.  I anticipate a better fit once fully broken in.  Some people go down a width and up half in length, however, I believe most go true to size. YMMV.  Good luck.

Edit - just saw you take 9.5D Barrie.  If you are slightly on the narrow side in terms of width I would try 10D and 10C first if it is available.  I am 9D barrie and 9.5D aberdeen.

Wow, there have been some amazing models on display over the past couple of weeks. In thinking about my stable of Aldens, I've been seriously considering swapping my CXL Indys for shell. My Indys are worn for weekend casual wear and yard work. I wouldn't plan on babying them and want to be able to reach for them for rain and snow. Ok with wiping down and use Alden defender. Would be interested in thoughts and experience on shell Indys as "beaters."

Also, debating #8 (available now) vs cigar (not available now). Thanks all!

Yes Sir.

I took the shots at night so they showed up pretty dark.
