Got some AF53 last night, very clunky and tank-like mostly due to the TB last and size. These will work great for daily "shit-kicker" boots!

I'm wearing mine now, they are about two years old. They are up there with cigar indys on my list of most frequently worn boots. I have nicer stuff like ravello, but I'm always grabbing for the AF53.

It's funny because I always thought that LS's lacing looked different, but I never really investigated.

Definitely give it a try. I will say this, it feel like a more secure lacing method. By that I mean, the tightness that I feel when I first lace them is maintained longer throughout the day as opposed to the older method loosening up. It still conforms a little, just enough to be supportive and comfortable. I definitely appreciate this.

Their pictures always look top notch. I knew something was up!

Thank you sir! I can't wait to pair these with some heavy weight denim and EP winter Walt trousers.

Hehehe, great minds think alike. I can't speak to the Walt trousers you mention but I have on some 18 oz. Zimbabwe denim on today and it pairs very well.

Same here. The difference is minor but it's there. Maybe I'll give it a shot on my 4060s next time.

Which Indy was this? A stock or preorder spot?

Check out Ian's shoe lace site. Many different patterns.

The only difference on that style of lacing is that the pattern points down instead of up, so there's no gap with the initial bar if it's threaded over the eyelet. For boots, this is what I've always used.

Bar lacing looks best on balmorals, IMO.

Sweet, thanks.

Yes you're totally right. I believe filling in the gap between the initial bar is what makes it look really complete. Otherwise there is just a big open spot. Also, with this pattern there is no "underlace" shown. It is a lot clean to me. You nailed it on bar lacing for bals. I'm not a huge fan of bals, but if I had to wear them I would opt for bar.

Hey guys .. I want to pick up Unlined Snuff Penny. Same size as my BB Shell Unlined and Lined Shell Penny? I know dumb question just don't know how the suede fits over time...

Also, having never had flex welt, is it super flexible or more like single sole BB unlined shell penny broken in? I have to have some support in a shoe. Cannot wear those Italian thin soled shoes 10 feet... Thankfully LOl

Thanks Mucho!

Does anyone have an Alden boot box they would part with? Boot bags would be a bonus. PM if you do

I have boxes and bags that are of no use to me. Unfortunately due to the bulky nature of them shipping would probably still run $12-15.

I'm cool with that!

I have no idea if they still do it, but the factory used to be willing to send you a box w/ the model no. and size as long as you covered postage.
