Thanks...I thought the chromexcel version of the jumper boots was actually much too casual for my office setting, but was hoping that the shell version would work better.

My whiskey and ravello LWBs after ONE WEAR. All you Alden haters are gonna love this, but honestly, this is my first bad experience with ANY Alden shoe, and I'm confident if I send them back to the factory, they can fix the problem.

The Grand Slam? As much as I'd kill for a #4, I've put it out of mind as it seems fairly unattainable.

NYR: Ask the shops you bought them from for a "return authorization" for "repair and return." Alden should fix and send back to you.

Is that Cigar? Looks great. how old are they? I tried a NST (all weather walker) but returned them because they were way too heavy. Is the heavy weight specific to the AWW sole or to the NST model?

They're color #8 from 2000/2001.

The weight you felt was most likely due to the crepe sole.

Yeah, I know Franco's has a number 6 in my size, but I don't need to make this habit any worse.

I don't believe they are appropriate for wear with a suit because of the shape of the Trubalance last. You could wear them but they will look odd.

If you want a boot that can be worn with jeans and a suit, your best bet is probably something on the Barrie last. I think a wingtip, cap toe, or chukka boot could be worn with either.

Does anyone have pictures of #4 and #6?

Aldens I have:
Whiskey Shell LW
dark brown calf LW (for Blackbird)
Burgundy Shell tassel loafers.
