Disco, I am not a plain toe boot guy (despite liking Chukkas and PTBs) but those look great. Nice having the Commando sole as well!

Handcuffed, I got 10.5B on the Barrie and wear 10.5C on the Grant for what its worth.

My experience with having a wide foot and high instep says "yes," you can do that. It depends where your arch is on the Barrie. If just before or not entirely centered with the widest part of the last, AND you have a wide foot, then I'd say keeping length the same and going up in width should work.

Bear in mind that a 12.5D and 12E are supposed to have similar volume, but the E feels a hair wider.

Comparing between those sizes and widths (11D vs 10.5 E in my case), the biggest difference in the E width in my experience is in the heel, which will be MUCH fuller in the E width. I ended up going TTS, as the 10.5D was pinching my big toes at the welt, and my heels in the 10.5E were almost coming out of the shoe, 11D, TTS, was my ticket in the Barrie, and I have 2 pairs at that size which feel great.

Disclaimer: One of my two pairs of Alden is the Brooks Brothers plain toe blucher, which allegedly is the Barrie last, but I've seen conflicting reports on this.

Mike, Your pictures and your collection are stunning!
I especially like the Color 4 Wingtips and the Cigar Medallion boots from this round of photos.

I dunno how you do it. If I had this many shoes to choose from Id have to wake up 2 hours early everyday just to decide which pair I wanted to wear with what outfit.
