For many of us who came into the Alden game after the days where rarer shell was regularly available, it doesn't seem like much of a stretch to overpay (for lack of a better word) for a shoe/boot that may never again come along. Like everyone else, I hope jkater gets over 2G for his boots, though I'm not as much of a fan of color 4. However, I could easily see paying in the neighborhood of $1,500 for the right boot in either whiskey or ravello. At the prices were paying for color 8 and cigar, it just doesn't seem like much of a stretch if it is truly your grail.

I swear, I lose a little more faith in humanity every day. What idiot pays that kind of dough for someone else's stank-ass, used shoes? I hope the previous owner had a nice case of foot fungus.

Understand.

With a clear photo and description, eBay has been very protective of sellers to get them to use the program (removing negative feedback, taking 100% responsibility for any Global issues/damages). It's actually kind of surprising because everything else is geared completely toward the buyer. Then again, if you're going to get nearly $2k (or over?) in the US, why mess with it. Many have US proxy addresses anyway.

I know the whiskey cordovan balmoral short wing is on tremont. I thought the question was whether the stock color 8 and black cordovan modesl - 974 and 9741 were on tremont, and I recently saw on Citishoes' website that the stock models were on grant. But that is incorrect by every indication I have since seen, as your link shows. So I stand corrected.

I have the 974 and the Whiskey Shortwing Balmoral. They are both on the Tremont last for certain.

Good luck with the auction. I added it to my watch list just to see how high it goes.

I haven't even been in the game very long and already have 1 foot out the door. The chase for their shoes is crazy and the way they drive up demand by limiting supply is very annoying. Add I don't even want any of the shell shoes. As soon as I get my stuff out of storage in 3-4 months I'll most likely be listing my color 8 4060HC I picked up from DC and only ended up wearing twice.

Don't laugh...I clicked the link and it led me to a site with all the color 4, color 2, whiskey and ravello shell stock you can imagine. I bought one pair of each. I'll post pics when they arrive.
