This question is going to be impossible to answer perfectly. Alden uses many different lasts and for many people they fit differently. Also, you might fit in a 7 with Clarks for many different reasons. These reasons would need to be compensated for with your Alden sizing.

You best bet would be to get a general idea from the forums and order a few/bunch of sizes from a retailer with a liberal return policy. Shoemart would be one choice. Also, Brooks Brothers sells a number of Aldens in Shell Cordovan. Some of their versions are identical to the like Alden styles, while others are IMO better looking.

Wow... thread took a turn to the darkside since last night!

good entertainment but I hope we can all try to play nice. It's supposed to be about the shoes.

I'd like to thank everyone who contributes positively to this thread. It is my favorite one by far.

These got soaked right through yesterday in a torrential rain.

Go for it Ahab.

You need a tanker boot in your collection. The all around storm welt on this tanker indy is heavy duty. There is also the next restock of the LS Hawaiian NST Tanker hopefully soon. Too many boots...

Nice one. These look like they didn't have any water contact at all. Did you do some type of maintenance or just let it out to dry?

None, actually this was second wear, right out of the box. When I say soaked, I mean soaked right through too.. Wore them through dinner and then put trees in them when I got home. Didn't even brush them..

Great shoes. I love both my pairs. I am hoping the wife lets me add the snuff color in the near future. They go with almost anything.
