BANK is MUCH better than Firelake.

It's a great room but cavernous. And it's never all that full. So it's certainly a long ways from what you described: something of a smaller hot spot. But you should enjoy it.

Food at BANK is "decent".

true, but i can imagine we can get one of those couches and make it somewhat more intimate, especially if it's not that full. we'll see. thank you all for suggestions. if anyone's ever in ct hopefully i can return the favor.

Your welcome - enjoy! The couches really did it for us, my wife really loved it. As Cary Grant said, the room overall is large, but the couches coupled with the ambient lighting make it cozy. I also agree that most of the food is average (though there are a few dishes I enjoyed), the drinks are great.

Do the tapas thing, and then go to Nyes. It's a dive bar (sort of?), but an "only in Minnesota" thing. You'll certainly remember it a year from the event. As in "Where did we go last year...?"
