Casual fall outwear - Page 2

I have a pair of forest green Zanella moleskin jeans that still look great after 5 years of wear. Why not give Loro Piana a call and check on availability? They'll make you a coat for three grand. A nice alternative might be a corduroy jacket? Zegna is putting out a nice one for spring with all these cool inner pockets.

I'm in favor of the corduroy jacket also. I got a fitted brown one recently. Kind of cool. I also work at a college, so its got that academic feel to it. I also have a really dark brown suede jacket from BR that I really like.

I say go for the tweed. A nice brown is good for Autumn and will look good with a pair of jeans. It can be matched with a lot of different shirt patterns and colors.

J. Crew does a real Harris Tweed.

I still don't know what to make of this company, but I was tempted by a "Correspondent's jacket" they had last fall... Boden jacket They also have a "field jacket" I like... I have a JCrew herringbone wool jacket I wear a lot. Word to the quality-conscious, though - the styling is nice, but the wool pills. None of their stuff is worth retail. Not exactly fashion-forward, but Orvis has a few jackets in their winter and spring sale sections.
