I'd be curious to know how much one would have to consume to be quite high.
What is its toxicity?

Don't know, but apparently there was a legendary night at my college back in the 60s when a bunch of kids showed up at the infirmary with nutmeg poisoning. They'd read in Malcolm X that it was a good intoxicant and found instead that it just made them sick.

Co-sign with Manton's first reply saying nutmeg is good on (roasted) squash - along with a crumbled dried chili, some dried oregano, garam masala, little bit of cinnamon.
