There is a new brown color making its way to dealers now. I prefer the cherry.

I figured some folks would need pictures of why the only choice here is the Alden Indy.

Which brand/model of jeans are those in the last photo?

Same as all the others. Same as the OP's jeans...IH 634S.

The cherry has a lot of authority, for want of a better term. Maybe it goes back to the skinhead thing. It looks like more trouble than any brown boot would.

Yeah. it's the super-wide welt, that nefarious little up-turn on the toe, and the bloodclot red color. I really like mine

I have always hated boots with a bulbous toe. Love Indys though, I just wish they'd use a different color of leather.

The NYC Alden store sells Indy's in black for $25 more. I think I saw some tans out there, too...

I just got a pair from Alden Shop -- I think they might be called Aviators or something -- but they are Indys in brown suede with a plain toe. Love them.

The black cordovan ones actually are unworn.
The rest get regular wear.
I'll probably retire the suede ones for the rainy season (i.e. the next 6 months here in Seattle) though.

zippyh... you seem to be the only other person I've run across with an equal obsession with the Indy boot... maybe you're actually more obsessed. I've posted most of these pictures in various threads around here, but here they are again:
