These dry cleaning shops charge the same prices as regular tailors, but generally have someone who knows how to sew and could reattach buttons, but knows little about adjusting the seat of a pair of trousers or waist suppression on a coat.

By the way, we should clearly note that the thread started in 2005. Prices have gone up since then.

Yes. In my youth I knew one Bambi who was an "and such"

So has anyone here ACTUALLY gotten a custom suit from Bhambi's?

I agree, has anyone purchased a custom suit from Bhambi's and, if so, what was the quality and experience?

I think Bhambi is the actual last name of these guys, these are Indian tailors.

The Bhambi are an Indian caste. The traditional occupation of the Bhambi was tanning of hides.

I use these guys a lot, and a good job all around (especially for tricky stuff or advanced tailoring alterations). they ARE expensive, but most times turnaround is very fast as a benefit of the higher prices. I feel like i'm paying my bookie every time i visit them-- but nice that they are across the street from barneys to help ease the pain smile.gif
