DIY jeans hem's alteration (pics)

Just bought a pair of "mastic" helmut lang jeans "low waist contour fit", denim vintage...etc size 30. Being, by today's fashion standards, a borderline midget, I need to cut 2-3 inches from the bottom. Any of you know how to reproduce the alterations at the hems : TIA .luc

You can ask your tailor if they will keep the original hem - they will cut off the bottoms, shorten the legs and re-attach the hem. It is usually almost invisible unless you are a few inches away. If you want to shorten the hem yourself, I would shorten as normal, and then probably use a saw-tooth blade, like this:

Rip out the topstitching. This is your new stitchline for the hemmed legnth. Clip excess fabric. Now sew the old turnunder at the new shorter spot, either by hand or machine.
