Thought it would be a good idea to start an official PBJ thread. Please post all questions on individual models or pics here.

PBJ's official website, http://www.purebluejapan.jp/

Justed visited PBJ's shop in Tokyo, here are some pics. Very nice store.

These are pics of an older model which was at the PBJ store. It has the same fabric as the XX-005, 14.5 ounce Japanese selvage. Started as raw, worn for one year, washed 3 times.

All pictures here courtesy of PBJ.

XX-005 one wash - their most popular slim fit jean (slim through the thigh to the knee, but then remains straight fit from the knee to the hem, made of slubby denim)

XX-010 purple face, one wash - same cut as the XX-005

Pics of the XX-010 (left) next to the XX-005 (right). Currently no PBJ jeans have acruates, instead only a single embroidered leaf on the top left of the back right pocket.

Atsui is officially carrying PBJ and both these models will arrive in Atsui's first shipment, ETA Friday 10-31-2008.

What sort of size ranges do they make their clothing in?

Everything seems to be American friendly. XL in jackets is about 46" chest, shirts vary from approximately 43"-45". Unisex items start at XS, others S-XL.

How do their garments (non-denim) compare to stuff by 45rpm? I kind of figure that they're in the same ballpark, and PBJ being a little more affordable. Does the PBJ indigo and other dyes stand up to 45rpm? Also, I'm digging these. Wish there were fit pics or a lookbook.

I just received an indigo scarf from BiG which I can compare to an indigo bandana I have from 45RPM. They're both really nice. I like 45RPM's indigo better, but the one from Pure Blue is very dark and very deep. The collar of the white shirt I was wearing yesterday is all blue now. Beware.

Also 45rpm denim is dyed by beautiful Japanese virgin priestesses.

very, very blue compared to my 45rpm sorahikos... almost makes them look greencast in comparison

Great pics/thread. I'm with tim in wanting to know about getting a hold of their non-denim pieces. The single pocket henley, for example, looks great.

Pics just don't do justice to PBJ. You need to have a pair in your hands to get a clue of how crazy the denim is.

If the Canadian dollar was better I'd be buying XX-010s. I might anyway, honestly... My waist is a size 36.5 though... I'm wondering if I should size down to 34s, given the 2 inch shrink (that is, 36" waist measurement off the rack) and the fact that I wouldn't be washing them for some time. Never bought shrink-to-fit jeans before.

you could wear them in the bath tub. everything else will shrink and the waist will stay 36 with yours.
