To be honest, this is probably my most contrast-y pair of denim I've had... And oddly, I wear them mostly while sitting in a cubicle all day whereas when I was a student, I used to be walking around campus, etc...
Maybe it comes down to fit as well because this is probably the slimmest pair I've worn...
Those are really impressive, Malaujai. Still don't totally understand how some people coax such high contrast out of their denim, but all power to you.
I'll see if I can't post some latest pics of my xx009s later today or tomorrow.
the high contrast depends on intensity/frequency of wear & [equally important] the nature of the denim itself.... but, you already know that. hi-def creasing, however, involves break in techniques. lap whiskers are the easiest cuz once they set in, they're good to go, cuz they don't usually move after soak/wash. honeycombs are more elusive & different strategies/techniques of keeping them intact & well-formed vary by denim brand/make & its user.
i live & work in the city & rarely engaged in extreme physical activities in my jeans. so, i need to creatively tailor a break in routine that fits my lifestyle. combs need time to set in & i can't handle stink. on slow-faders like SDAs, deferring from a soak/wash to keep the combs can be quite onerous.
bottom line, my SOP is an initial double soak [3rd soak after couple of wears if the denim is a shrinker or too starched up], from there, i partial-soak [ie, above the combs] when needed_ got a horsehair brush to groom them, in between soaks/washes.
